The Perfect Multigrain Atta for Daily Rotis: What to Look For

Not all multigrain attas are created equal. Here is how to spot a genuinely nourishing blend versus a marketing gimmick.

Read the ingredient list first

The ingredient list is where every multigrain atta reveals itself. Look for equal ratios of grains — not "97% wheat + 3% millet dust". At ShreeAnkur, our Sprouted Multigrain Flour uses genuinely equal parts of sprouted wheat, ragi, jowar and bajra.

Sprouted vs unsprouted

Sprouting is the single biggest upgrade you can make. It softens the harsher grains like bajra and jowar, makes iron and protein bio-available, and gives the roti a naturally sweet, nutty flavour.

Freshness date matters

Ask your seller when the atta was milled — not just the expiry. Stone-ground flour is best consumed within 4-5 months of milling. Anything older starts losing aroma and nutrition.
